EVENT DATE Apr 01, 2016

THE STORY:

Hello all! Shiloe here.

I am raising money for tuition to attend a Web Development Bootcamp from the Reno Collective.

All of the money raised goes directly to tuition. I don't have a lot of time to raise funds for this bootcamp. Classes begin on April 4th with tuition needing to be paid for by April 1st! This hasn't given me a lot of time to finance this endeavor on my own. So I decided I would ask all of you for your assistance in furthering my education in web development. I have invested a lot of time already in both paid and unpaid web development courses online, but this is the next big step in accelerating my skills and going to the next level in my career.

If I am being so bold as to ask all of you for your generosity, then I am prepared to pay it forward. I have begun outlining a Fund it Forward Scholarship that will stay with the Reno Collective.

Here is how it works: I raise the money from all of your generosity, enabling me to take the Web Development Bootcamp. When I land a job as a developer, I fund a scholarship ($2500 if I get funded in full) for another person from a future cohort at The Reno Collective Web Development Bootcamp. And once they land a job, they will fund the next scholarship and so on. By helping me start my career in web development through The Reno Collective, you'll also be helping me start a scholarship to ensure that someone else in the Reno area will be allowed the same privilege.

I don’t have to tell you how the tech industry is growing rapidly, and the jobs and earning potential are matching the pace. And as the tech industry expands in our backyard, I believe wholeheartedly that as a community we should support local candidates in making sure that they are capable and trained to compete for these jobs. I would be immensely grateful for any funding you can contribute to, not only my education, but starting a ripple effect of preparing potential Northern Nevadan coders for tech jobs. Anything will help and will be greatly appreciated!

Fund it Forward not enough? Here are the potential REWARDS for donors of $100 or more:

Per $50 donation you'll get an hour or $100 donation you'll receive 4 hours of custumizable services depending on your needs for your website or email marketing. Like custom email templates, webpage or components, website updates and maintenance, etc. If you have any questions about how the rewards will work please email me at shiloeallison@gmail.com! I am more than happy to exchange services for donations! Also these are things that I already have experience in, so you don't have to wait until I complete the course to redeem your rewards!
