One of my professors in film school said that I'd probably just end up being a teacher. I was like, "No way. Me, teach? Ha!" Who knew it would become one of my passions. My name is Olubusola ‘Shola’ Ajayi and I am a storyteller, content maker, and educator who has been working with youth since 2007.
I have worked as a teaching artist for organizations such as Groundwork, Inc., Harlem Children’s Zone, and Urban Arts Partnership. I am presently working part-time as an instructor at Parsons Pre-College Academy and also collaborate as an educator with youth media program Engage Media Lab (formerly known as Video Lab), which is an initiative of the New School for Public Engagement through the Media Studies program.
I founded UR4Africa with a few friends from Lagos and abroad with the soul purpose of sharing resources for African people to tell positive stories about Africa. Now UR4Africa has evolved into the creative space for African people to brainstorm new ideas, collaborate on projects and engage local communities using creativity and education as our tools!
Its been pretty awesome.
