BENEFITING: United Nations Foundation
For nearly 30 years I have been inspired by newborn babies, and have adored photographed them, through my desire to show the world the vulnerability, beauty, innocence and strength present in a newborn child. For me, as a photographer, there was never any other option than to photograph life in its purest form.
At the beginning of our lives, we are all more or less the same. Naturally, some are born in more fortunate circumstances, but each baby contains a new and unbroken spirit … and an absolute promise of great potential.
That’s why it breaks my heart -- as I'm sure it does yours -- to know that globally, a child dies every 20 seconds from a disease that is entirely preventable by a simple vaccine.
As a Global Advocate for the UN Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign, I am working with some of the most influential online voices, on Blogust - a first of its kind 31-day relay of inspirational blog posts through the month of August; where every comment on each post initiates a $20 donation.
The response to Blogust has been incredible. We reached our initial goal of 1500 comments ($30,000 that was made available for this blog relay to give kids a shot at life!) on only Day 4. But we cannot stop here.
Join me to ensure the Blogust relay continues to save children’s lives by raising more money to provide vaccines for children in developing countries.Every $20 will immunize a child with four essential lifesaving vaccines—giving these children a future of firsts and a shot at a healthy life.
Little children don't have a voice, or any control over their own lives, which makes them vulnerable.
Here’s your chance to make a difference. Give a child a shot at life.
