Our Mission

Support our mission by creating your own fundraiser.

Shots for Shots organizes after-school basketball camps to keep at-risk youth off the streets and away from the influences of drugs and gangs, and the funds raised from event sponsors goes directly towards life-saving vaccinations that fight the most preventable causes of death in the developing world, effectively serving two communities at once. Within the past year, the organization has expanded to include vaccines for more than a dozen diseases in four states of India, and has been featured on local news networks all over India. Its clinics are now conducted in five languages in India’s most populous regions.

We have vaccinated hundreds of children in India against typhoid fever, measles, mumps, rubella, pneumococcus, rotavirus, H. influenza, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, varicella, meningococcus, tuberculosis, and hepatitis A and B. We have also established a volunteer program for medical and nursing students to administer vaccinations in underserved areas of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu, India.

To bring awareness, research, and prevention to communities in need.

1. Awareness: to educate parents on the importance of vaccinations, and to provide resources to facilitate adherence to children's immunization schedules

2. Research: to collect and analyze data from surveys conducted on the field to determine barriers to proper vaccination, and to use this information to lobby to the state governments for increased subsidies and in recommendations of more optimal clinic locations

3. Prevention: to use funds generated in the United States for the purchasing and administering of vaccinations to children under 5 in India who have not completed their childhood immunization schedule

The tripartite mission of the group – education, research, and prevention – is the first and only one of its kind addressing this community, displaying extreme ingenuity by serving multiple underserved populations at once, and showing an extensive commitment to the well-being and health of children in need. Our organization provides a necessary intersection of service and medicine to address the desperate need for childhood immunizations in the developing world.
