Hello Family and Friends,
Once again we have decided that we must reach out to those we love and ask for your support. Many of you know we have been involved with an organization called Team in Training. This wonderful organization works with individuals and prepares them to participate in endurance events in exchange for fundraising efforts for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. For us it has been Marathons…Yes the full 26.2 mile marathons.
We keep on finding ourselves called back to do these events because of those we love that have been afflicted with Leukemia or Lymphoma. The pain, sadness and loss that accompany these brutal diseases continues to permeate our lives.
Back in 2007 when our son Taylor was diagnosed with Lymphoma – which thank God turned out to be a misdiagnosis – a rare muscular virus! Our hearts stopped with the news…from the moment we received the call from the Doctor through the next six weeks that followed our lives were turned upside down. The fear, the anger, the sadness that was felt for that short 6 weeks was truly devastating to our family. For we knew what we had seen our family and friends with the disease had gone through over the years. We are dedicated to supporting the efforts of those who are in search of a cure for Leukemia and Lymphoma – we believe no friend, family member or loved one should ever receive that frightful call ”You/yours has cancer.”
We will be doing the Quebec Marathon on August 26th in honor of those we have lost and those that are still amidst the fight. We are so hopeful that you will support our team’s efforts by donating to our campaign, of which 100% of the monies we raise will go to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We are so grateful for your support, the love and the positive thoughts you have always shown us as we continue on our journey of finding a cure.
