EVENT: 2015 Chicago Marathon
EVENT DATE: Oct 11, 2015
I am running my first marathon in Chicago on October 11, 2015. I am raising funds for Shriners Hospitals for Children. My goal is $10,000. All donations to the hospital are tax deductible. If I reach my goal, I will ALSO attempt to break the Guiness Book of World Records fastest marathon in full Highland dress. That is; kilt, sporran, buttoned-up waistcoat, dress shirt and bowtie, glengarry, and knee-high socks. The record is 3 hours 46 minutes and 14 seconds. Consider donating to the cause, and please spread the word. I can use all the help I can get. Shriners Hospitals for Children provide cleft lip/palate, spinal injury, burn, and orthopaedic care for patients up to age 18, REGARDLESS of the their ability to pay.
Shriners Hospitals for Children has a mission to:
Provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special healthcare needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment.
Provide for the education of physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Conduct research to discover new knowledge that improves the quality of care and quality of life of children and families.
This mission is carried out without regard to race, color, creed, sex or sect, disability, national origin or ability of a patient or family to pay.
