March Madness brought much gladness
April 05, 2017
Friends, Family, Teammates, and Community, Emily (Travis) Shull was diagnosed, with Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma in June 2016. No one should fight cancer alone. For those who know Emily she is a fighter and competitor and this diagnosis won't get her down. If you don't know Emily she is a 24 year-old wife, friend, daughter, athlete.... A Spokane Washington native, Emily was a collegiate athlete at Whitworth University participating in both basketball and golf. She married the love of her life, Trevor Shull, in July of 2015, and they moved to South Carolina where she is pursuing her PhD in Exercise Science with an emphasis on children's health and physical activity. Since her recent diagnosis of Hodgkins Lymphoma Emily will be undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments to fight and crush the cancer cells! Because of chemo's impact on her body, Emily and Trevor are also having to go through the fertility process prior to chemotherapy, to increase their chance to have children in the future. Because Emily and Trevor have started their life together across the country from their family homes in Washington they are faced additional travel expenses both for treatments and family support. As newlyweds and current students and Univ. of South Carolina, Emily and Trevor will need signifcant financial assistance to fight cancer and get back to a healthy life together. Any funds raised will be used to relieve the hefty financial burden associated with medical treatments. Thank you for your prayers, donations and encouragement. If you feel comfortable sharing this on social media , we would appreciate that as well. We will continue to keep you updated on her condition and her progress.
