Hey everyone...I've just returned from the School of Information's Alternative Spring Break program, which was a tremendously rewarding experience. I was able to help wonderful people in the Asian Division of the Library of Congres to preserve their institutional memory through the inventory of materials we seized from the Japanese during WWII. Researchers who need to know anything about the 南満州鉄道株式会社 (South Manchurian Railway Company) will surely find it easier now! This project is important, but the staff there doesn't have time to get to it, so they rely on Japanese-speaking volunteers. Thanks to ASB, they were able to import one from out of town. And this was possible thanks to your donations!

If you've ever felt anxious about what you want to do with your life, or if you've worried about how you could find a chance to get that real-world experience to break the horrible catch-22 cycle of entry level jobs that nevertheless require experience, this is your chance to help people in that same boat!
Instead of going on vacation with my friends this week, I'm working for free for our government in the service of historians of the future. But I won't be able to go on this awesome program without the support of generous donors like, I hope, YOU!
Won't you consider donating to our cause?
Thank you for your support!
