Helping organizations to better serve their communities is the goal of the Community Outreach & Engagement Team. Members of this team will volunteer in a variety of organizations in Chicago, New York and Washington D.C. These projects range from website design for Chicago's Brookfield Zoo to the development of smart phone app content for NYC Department of Environmental Protection. Whether a member of our team is doing research for the National Archives or working reference at the Georgetown University Law Library, you can be sure that they will be serving the public through their work
ABOUT SI ASB
SI's Alternative Spring Break program allows students to spend one week interning at various institutions in Chicago, New York, Detroit and Washington D.C. Instead of relaxing on a beach somewhere, SI students work on service projects at organizations that don't always have the staff or funds to do the projects themselves. This year, SI students will be volunteering at sites like the Library of Congress, the Folger Shakespeare Library, Columbia University, the Smithsonian Institution, among many others.
