Sick Father needs a Hand Up
Organized by: Jason Taylor
Our friend Jason Taylor has been battling various diseases since 2010. First, he was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. He beat the Doctors original prediction of one year to live. Once the cancer was in remission, he had developed an aspirations issue, which means that many times food will accidentally end up in one of his lungs and as a result, pneumonia hits him. This has become more and more difficult to get rid of. In 2013, his son's mother left him for another man. He and his son moved with a suitcase, little money and a laptop computer Jason needed to continue his pursuit of his Bachelor's degree. He is only months from having that now. When they first arrived, they stayed with friends. He has custody of his son. FOR a while, it seemed he was getting healthier nd as his pastor, I helped him network among other members of our church. He did exquisite remodeling work. They obtained their own home and vehicle and although things we're tight, they seemed to be keeping their heads above water. Then at the end of July of 2015, Jason ended up in intensive care for 2 weeks for necrotizing. Pneumonia. It came very close to killing him. A Pulmonary Specialist told him that the several pneumonia of the past several years had caused him to have Emphysema and COPD. When he went home, he could not walk unassisted to the house from the car. It took two months to feel normal enough to perform simple tasks. He tried to do small jobs but would always ended up sick again. He is awaiting an award from an asbestos settlement and has applied for social security disability. Our church is very small and despite our best efforts, have not been able to raise nearly enough. His car was repossessed, and his electricity was off for a time. Then his gas was shut off, even after his Dr had filed the form for a medical hold. Thankfully, they found the error and restored the service the next day. So now all his bills are in shutoff status and area churches larger than ours will not help. So I started this fundraiser to use the power of our Lord Jesus and Technology together. Any amount is welcome. I think 10.00 is the minimum this site accepts, to as high as you feel comfortable giving. Please help. This could be a real bridge between his settlement and the big zero he has now. God Bless and Keep You All. THANK YOU ROB Van Ruin Pastor and advisor.
