The Side by Side Project celebrates the uniqueness of young people through a traveling multi-cultural art show. Elongated self-portraits on paper approximately 8 x 36 inches from around the world are hung "side by side" to represent the coming together of individuals to make a better world.
Introduced in 1996 by art teacher, Helen Donnell, at Miami Country Day School as an art project during a study of Native Americans, Side by Side continues to be one of the most beloved iEARN projects by teachers and students of all ages. Simple, yet profound, work is done in crayon, pastels, or paints of any kind.
We're celebrating iEARN this August by creating Side by Sides and sharing our story of global classroom colloboration widely. Please join us by creating your own self-portrait and supporting our global community of amazing teachers and students who are working together to make a positive impact.
We'd love your support! You can donate here, or even even set up your own Crowdrise account and join our campaign team! You can also donate by check (payable to iEARN-USA) sent to: 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 450, New York, NY 10115.
