A million miles away on the coast of West Africa, there is an aftercare home staffed by the most beautiful people in all the world. These are a people who are acquainted with grief and yet living in hope. They have fought to provide holistic care for brave survivors of human trafficking. They have buried their own to Ebola, and yet they continue to sing songs of praise written upon their hearts.
These people, marked by compassion, truly will change their country and culture for future generations of children. It is our deep honor to be running on behalf of their life’s work. We are running so that others may restore love, value, and dignity to those who have had their inherent rights taken away. We are running to bring beauty from ashes.
The women and children in the aftercare home have survived forced prostitution, abuse and forced labor. They need a safe place where they can heal and restore. This program is a haven for them where they are receiving counseling, healing, restoration, and family therapy. These brave survivors are learning how to become good mothers, are being supported through medical crises, and are receiving legal support to prosecute perpetrators if they choose. The work being done here is truly life changing.
Our run this year will go towards the daily operations of this Recovery Centre so that the doors may stay open for the staff and the survivors, and so that God can continue to use this place for His glory.
Thank you for any amount you can give, however you can pray, and whatever you can do to bring hope to the broken. Thank you for running along with us towards the rescue and healing of lives. We couldn’t be more thankful!
