Sierra Club to Testify about increasing sewer rates
November 27, 2016
Here in greater Cincinnati, we are working to stop climate change, develop renewable energy, foster green transportation choices like transit, streetcar, stop sewer overflows which are polluting our Ohio River, Little Miami River, Mill Creek and Muddy Creek and our property.
We're working to make sure sewer rates are affordable and equitable, while continuing needed work to stop sewer overflow and create jobs (including job training) improving this infrastructure and implementing green infrastructure, like vegetated roofs and reusing rain water.
We stand with Standing Rock to stop the destructive Dakota Access Pipeline which threatens water supplies and will cause more damaging climate change. We've promoted increasing home and business energy efficiency and using geothermal energy instead of building a new high pressure gas pipeline through greater Cincinnati.
We've been at the forefront of stopping the construction of a new highway and bridge over the National Wild and Scenic Little Miami River while promoting improved mass transit, and alternatives like the streetcar.
We're working to educate the public about the destructive impacts of disposable plastic and encourge reduction in its use.
We are determined to protect America's hard won victories for clean air, water, and wildlife and stopping climate change. We know we can act locally we will win improvements here in greater Cincinnati, with your help!
