Siew Te Wong, a wildlife biologist in Malaysia, has dedicated his life to protecting the sun bear, the world’s smallest bear. With its population declining, due to threats like habitat loss and poaching, Wong founded the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre -- the only sun bear sanctuary in the world. Known as ‘Papa Bear,’ Wong and his team have rehabilitated and cared for more than 50 bears since 2008, and his nonprofit now educates the public about these animals.
