Of the estimated 39 million blind people in the world, ninety percent live in the world's poorest countries and two thirds are women and girls. Yet, 80% of blindness and visual impairment can be treated with simple, low-cost interventions. For over 60 years, Sightsavers has been working to save and restore sight. To date, we have provided over 700 million sight-saving treatments to some of the poorest and most vulnerable people around the world.
The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation has generously offered to match all donations to this appeal 100% to benefit our work in the Morogoro region of Tanzania. So, every $25 you donate will be fully matched and help restore sight to one more person in need and change a life.
