On April 27, 2014, the 9/11 Memorial will host the second annual 5K Run/Walk and Family Day to raise awareness about the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and to encourage volunteerism in memory of 9/11.
Those of us in Cooperstown, in conjunction with the 9/11 Memorial, will similarly host a satellite event in beautiful Cooperstown, NY. This event will feature a timed competitive race and a fun run/walk that will take place entirely in the Village of Cooperstown, taking participants on a 3.1-mile route that will pass historic landmarks and mainstays of the local community, as well as include representatives from area emergency response agencies, as we reflect and recall how we came together as community, a state, and a Nation to support one another in the aftermath of 9/11.
If you can't be in New York City on April 27, 2014 for the 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk, but live in the Upstate region of New York, you can still participate, support and help raise awareness about the National September 11 Memorial & Museum by registering here. If you are unable to participate in the event, you may still donate to this fundraiser.
All proceeds raised through your participation in the 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk Cooperstown will support the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
