Parkinson's fundraising update!
July 28, 2017
I am a week and a day away from riding 78 miles in a tribute to my wonderful dad and uncle who are both suffering with Parkinson's.....Please See more
My family has been stricken with Parkinson's Disease and I am fighting to find a cure and help others! About 12 years ago I started noticing signs of Parkinson's in my father while climbing a 14er. HIs gait changes, slow eating and very small handwriting were all coming forward. He had lost his sense of smell more than 10 years before that.... It was another 2 years before he was diagnosed after I watched his gait worsen and speech starting to change...it was a heartbreaking diagnosis for us all. He continues to fight his battle 10 years later! Unfortunately as the the disease continues to progress, my dad was told that his brother, My uncle, also has Parkinson's. My uncle says he noticed signs a few years ago but held off on getting a diagnosis so he could travel to Antartica on his lifetime photography dream trip. He has traveled to Antartica and Patagonia in his quest to live life and not give in to this disease! I ride for all my family members and all of yours. I hope to raise even a small amount to contribute to the ever strong efforts to find treatments and cures for Parkinson's Disease. I am asking for ANY size donation! Please send this to a friend. It all adds up! Thank you for your kind donation!
