Simple Matters is a charity whose work in Honduras directly impacts the children in a rural village called Camp Betel, outside the capital city of Tegucigalpa. Our work there began in 2010 out of a North Carolina Baptist Men youth mission trip . The children we served often did not have enough to eat, many did not have access to medical care, and most would not finish high school because they could not afford uniforms and school supplies. The poverty we encountered was overwhelming. After we left we knew we could not come home and continue with life as normal while these children were trapped with no hope of escape from the cycle of poverty.
Now….God has accomplished His plan to overflowing at Camp Betel! Children there have monthly medical and dental care and participate in a feeding program that provides several meals each week. In 2011, a team of North Carolina Baptist Men built a building to house the feeding program and medical clinics. The current need is for a security fence to be built around the building for the safety and security of the children who participate in these programs. Simple Matters has already raised half of the cost of the fence. We need $2000 more. With your help, we can help protect these children!
