Each year, Simpson Housing Services works with almost 4,000 people who have experienced homelessness, including over 500 children. Because of the trauma and instability of homelessness, children who have been homeless often fall significantly behind their peers in academic performance, are more likely to experience developmental or behavioral challenges, and are at a higher risk of dropping out of school.
