BENEFITING: CHALLENGED ATHLETES FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Aug 14, 2016
Three years ago, I ran my first triathlon and fell in love with the sport. From that point, I made it a goal for myself to complete increasingly more difficult triathlons each year that follows. My ultimate goal is to complete a full Ironman triathlon in the near future.
However, the next step in my journey is to complete my very first Half-Ironman triathlon. Thus, I will be participating in the Chula Vista Challenge San Diego Half-Ironman triathlon on August 14, 2016. This competition consists of a 1.2 mile ocean swim, 56 mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run to finish it off.
In addition, I have decided to simultaneously better the lives of others as I strive to accomplish this athletic milestone. I will be raising money for the Challenged Athletes Foundation's® (CAF) Operation Rebound® program. It is the premier sports and fitness program for American military personnel and veterans and first responders with permanent physical disabilities. The program provides unparalleled opportunities to pursue active, athletic lifestyles by offering access to funding for equipment and training and competition expenses, Military Medical Center Physical Training (MMCPT) and sports clinics. I would be truly honored if you would support me in my personal athletic endeavor, as well support those who have served our country.
