Session #7- Oct. 26, 2016
October 27, 2016

For family and friends who know me and my husband, Will Argueta you know we love our pups like they were our children. To us they are not pets, they are part of our family. So we take it personal when anyone/anything tries to hurt them. It is like hurting our own kids. On Friday Sept 2, 2016 we took Sinatra our Blu Pit Bull to the vet for a routine visit as well as a check-up to see why he had a few lumps under his neck. We had called the vet upfront to make the appointment and explained what we were felling in his neck, they quickly said, yes bring him in, sounds like he may have swollen lymph nodes. Vet recommended to do a fine needle aspirate & cytology. He also suggested we do an X-ray since he felt a small lump near his abdomen. After an hour wait, the results showed high probability of lymphoma. Since, he also found his back legs had swollen lymph nodes as well, his preliminary diagnosis was multicentric lymphoma. Vet recommended we now go to a oncologist and get a biopsy of the lymph nodes to get a better idea of what type of lymphoma (cancer) he has and the type of chemo treatment he may need. We are in shock to say the least! I'm upset, sad and confused. I just don't get it. He's only 5! He has been going to his vet checks regularly and every time his health has been perfect. This is so out of nowhere!! Sinatra came to us when he was just 8 weeks old. He was born at the OC shelter along with his 3 brothers and 4 sisters, they were all rescued together and slowly brought back to health by Aimee Moore Fundak after they had caught pneumonia. Sinatra has been such a great addition to our family. He is the most gentle dog you've ever met. Super mellow and sweet. His big block head scares people as we walk down the street, but he is the opposite of the stereotypical "pit bull". He has grown up along with our kids and our other pup Blu. He is my little shadow. He follows me around, everywhere I go, he goes. I can't imagine our life w/o him. We began chemotherapy on Sept 7th 2016. Every week is a new medication and new tests and different costs to cover the tests, lab work and chemo. We desperately need your help to continue this fight. We know in our hearts he can fight this!! Please share our story and help us raise money to continue his care.
