Single Mother doesn't want to lose everything
Organized by: Jami Schneider
I am a single mother taking care of my 6 year old on my own in Norwich CT. I have a full time job as a paralegal that I have been at for 4 years and do not get any assistance from anyone for my child. I work hard and I pride myself on teaching my daughter that you can do things are your own with hard work, but now we need help. My transmission is going on my car and I have no way to fix and no money saved to possibly try and get another car. My car is a 2000 Honda Accord that I paid $3,000 for 3 years ago and has 260,000.00 miles on it, the mechanic said it would cost $2,000.00 for a transmission and was not worth it to fix. If I lose my car, I lose my job, I live in Norwich and work in Hartford so I would not be able to just "catch a ride" . Basically if my car breaks we will lose everything, I don't even know how I would get my child to school as she goes to a different district than where we live in and the bus doesn't even come to our house. Anything that anyone could do to help would be so appreciated, I am desperate. Please, it takes a lot for me to do this and admit I need help but I have to at this point so that my daughter and I can don't lose everything.
