EVENT DATE: Mar 19, 2016
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Apr 19, 2016
The American Red Cross of Alaska serves the entire state of Alaska, and you can count on us to be there to help you in times of need. In 2015, the Red Cross of Alaska helped to support over 312 local families. That effort was made possible because of the generous donations we receive, volunteer time, and business sponsors. We need your help to make 2016 even more successful!
Join Anchorage’s first annual Skate for Red Cross event. The Dimond Center Mall has generously made the ice rink available on March 19, 2016. From 2pm - 4pm, participating fundraisers will be able to skate for free, win prizes and drink some cocoa! Come by and skate with Ace’s mascot Boomer.
We are asking each participant to set a goal of at least $120. And we are asking teams to set a goal of $120 per team member. Why $120? $120 can help provide blankets, food, and fire safety training for a family of 5 people. If you reach that goal, don’t stop! Set yourself a higher goal. A donation of $550 provides food, clothing, and a place to stay for a family that suffers from a house fire or natural disaster.
Each person to raise $120 will receive a t-shirt to show your support for the Red Cross of Alaska. Each person to raise $550 will be entered into a drawing for a special prize. There will also be prizes for top fundraisers and more! While you can continue to raise funds up until the last minute, to be eligible for the corresponding prize, your donations must be received no later than Wednesday, March 16th.
