Growing up in the the 80s, I spent my summers loading up on baby oil to tan my fair, freckled skin. During the winters, I begged my mom for Porcelana to fade my darked freckles. I don't think I even really ver thought about sunscreen or shade. As a result, I now spend quality time with the dermatologists to monitor my various spots.
As the mother of three girls, my goal now is to make sure that children are educated about the positive and negative aspects of the sun and sun exposure. Knowing that the teenage years are a critical time, I'd like to raise awareness for this age group in particular.
