Sleeping Tiger Ride is a trans-America self-contained solo bicycle ride to raise awareness about adolescent addiction to drugs and alcohol.
In March of this year, I heard an 18 year-old tell her addiction story. There were about thirty people in the room. Ages 18 to 68. Most wrestling with addiction. It hit me that they all started drinking and using around the age of 11.
No child sets out to become an addict. Within a day of this realization, I knew what I would do.
Now that I have completed this cross-country journey, traveling 3730 miles and climbing 150,350 vertical feet, I turn to you with a request to give. Climb the next mountain with me!
In Mount Pleasant, Iowa, I passed a sign that said, "Work to get. Live to give." The power of those words has stayed with me ever since.
Please give what you can. All money raised will go to Partnership for a Drug Free America.
Look out for Sleeping Tiger LA this fall!
