On any given night, an estimated 300 youth are homeless in Greater Manchester for a range of reasons such as abuse, neglect, mental illness, substance abuse, strained relationships, gender or sexual identity, and poverty. They are at great risk and suffer many consequences.
Let’s change that.
On Friday, March 25, 2016, in a show of solidarity, members of the community will sleep out in Stanton Plaza in downtown Manchester, NH, to raise awareness and funds to help homeless youth.
Register as a sleeper: ASPIRE to raising $1000 for the cause. OR Register a team of 4 sleepers : ASPIRE to raising $3000 as a team. OR-Support a sleeper, a team, or the entire SleepOut campaign with a financial donation.
Child and Family Services helps approximately 1,500 runaway, homeless and street youth, per year, providing them with the BASIC ELEMENTS FOR SURVIVAL and the STUFF WITH WHICH TO SUCCEED. Proceeds from this event will help to fulfill basic needs such as food, clothing, and access to shelter and medical care, and will support mental health and substance abuse counseling, educational advocacy, job search and housing.
The SleepOut is by invitation only and you must be 18 or older to participate. If you wish to sleep out, contact Cindy Gaffney, email@example.com, 603-518-4156.
