BENEFITING: Sierra Leone Foundation for New Democracy
Welcome to Ta-Valema Permaculture Farm: Ta-Valema is a Mende language word which simply translated will mean, a source of growth, or a place where something grows, or a point of germination. Sierra Leone Foundation for New Democracy is building the first permaculture farm in rural Sierra Leone.
I am raising funds to help support the building of a farm and the first village daycare in rural Sierra Leone.
Ta-Valema Permaculture Farm is future site for a 20 acres of land that has been secured in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone, in Kenema District, in Gorama Mende Chiefdom.
Dovalema is a mende language word, when translated, it will mean a place where children grow up. Dovalema is the name of the daycare center to be futured on this 20 acres Ta-Valema Permaculture Farm. I am excited to be a part of creating a new thinking around providing daycare services for poor village communities in Sierra Leone.
Dovalema daycare will have a structured curriculum that is culturally informed, and will support the learning needs of the children. The early childhood center will allow families to drop in their children in the morning, and pick them up in the evening. Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the center.
Thank you for being a part of this vision and supporting my dream.
