I haven't run a marathon since becoming a founding member of Wellbody Alliance. I am running another 26.2 miles because I believe every life matters, no matter where they live. The poor of Kono District, Sierra Leone, see the local hospital as a place to go to die while we have managed to create our comprehensive health clinic into a place of hope. We are re-building the community's trust in Sierra Leone's health delivery system, and we need your support to build on this momentum.
Right now, we have a 40,000 dollar funding gap in our clinic's operating budget for this year. I am running the Sierra Leone Marathon because I believe we can close this gap by 10,000 dollars in 26.2 miles and continue to waive the 5 dollars it costs to take care of every child under 5, pregnant woman, and person living with HIV/AIDS. Health is a human right and we don't want money to be a reason that someone dies. For more information, please see www.wellbodyalliance.org.
Thank you for accompanying me on the road to support Wellbody Alliance and the poor of Sierra Leone!

Dan Kelly is running a marathon on May 26 to raise money for Wellbody Alliance (previously called Global Action Foundation), a nonprofit health clinic in Kono, Sierra Leone.
Wellbody strives provide medical services to the poor, but to build an effective healthcare system in the region that will save lives in a sustainable, equitable and just manner. Wellbody provides cost effective interventions; the clinic needs only $40,000 to operate for the rest of the year. For more information, please visit: http://wellbodyalliance.org
ABOUT THE MARATHON:
Described by Runners World as 'quite possibly the world's most worthwhile marathon', the Sierra Leone Marathon will once again take place amongst the stunning scenery of Makeni, located in northern Sierra Leone.
