We are the Houldsworth Family from New Jersey. During our recent family trip to Uganda, we witnessed first-hand (in addition to all the amazing wildlife and scenery!) the real need for fresh water in remote, rural villages. Every day women and children in Uganda have to walk miles to obtain water for drinking, cooking and cleaning - as much as 25% of each day is spent in this task alone!
We are undertaking a fundraising project called "SLURP! Fresh Water for Uganda" to challenge our family and our community to raise $10,000 for "The Water Trust" in order to drill a new borehole in an Ugandan village. A single new borehole can serve as many as 10,000 people daily, protecting them from disease and improving their quality of life in a dramatic way.
Please support our project "SLURP!" and bring fresh water to a remote Ugandan village.
"The Water Trust" is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, based in NYC and Uganda. Please visit www.watertrust.org for details of their charitable programs.
