Small Batch's Big Debut!
Organized by: Mandy Hurley
Help us bring Small Batch into the world! Dean and I have decided to use a midwife to help us with the birth of our little babe. The catch is that our insurance won't cover midwifery care, so we're looking for a little help to recoup the cost. We've found a great midwife - Charlie Rae Young of Barefoot Birth - and have thus far loved the prenatal care. AND this help is two-fold. Anything we get that exceeds the amount our midwife will cost will go to midwifery training and prenatal care in Uganda, where my parents live. They've set up a non-profit in eastern Uganda, and have been there for eight years. They've been very successful thus far in helping to improve the lives of expectant mothers, including midwifery training and nutrition education. Early, prenatal nutrition is vital, and taking care of my own growing babe has really kept this on the forefront of my mind. So, any help you can offer is very appreciated, and will impact not only our own little nugget, but scores of new little nuggets and moms in Uganda. THANK YOU.
