In 2014, NICA launched an inovative new project which delivers high-speed internet to the local public school in El Transito. The objective of the project is to bring much needed materials to students who are lacking books and learning materials.
CREA - Connect, Reinforce, Educate, and Advance
Currently, have constructed the infrastructure necessary to deploy the internet. We have tested all the kids with a standardized test to get an idea of their levels before beginning any online reinforcement programs. We have modified a classroom at the current school to house our equipment. We launched our program May 2015.
We have deployed 20 ipads using iStation and Reflex Math to reinforce basic math and reading skills for kids in primary school. We have also deployed 6 Chrome computers for high school kids to access Khan Academy and set them up with Google accounts. We have begun teaching teachers and students how to use Google Drive and Gmail. We are on our way collecting data to see what is working.
We need your support in raising money for the further development of the project in El Transito. Support this innovative project and realize an investment in education with verifiable results.
