How we’re fighting poverty in NYC.
Robin Hood is the largest independent poverty-fighter in NYC and one of the most innovative.
We've taken a new approach to defeat an age-old problem. Our method of using market principles to foster the most effective social change has been called “venture philanthropy.” We’ll accept the name, but what we won’t accept is the status quo. There are presently 1.8 million New Yorkers living in poverty. We are determined to upset that status quo.
Last year Robin Hood…
-Provided 5 million meals to hungry New Yorkers
-Helped educate 45,000 students
-Helped heal over 35,000 low-income patients
-Provided guidance and support for over 8,700 families
In 2010, we were fortunate enough to be able to touch the lives of over 650,000 New Yorkers...which is pretty amazing. But unfortunately, there were over one million of our neighbors in need who we weren’t able to help.
Please help us help them.
