Sober House Trailer & Workshop
Organized by: Bonnita Roddy
Please help raise "roof overhead" money for disabled someone who is dying to stay sober and attend out-patient rehab. We have found an old inexpensive mobile home with a new furnace, only a block away from out patient rehab, hospital, a Subway sandwich shop, grocery, bank, doctors' office and pharmacy, (so the person does not need a vehicle). We need $4500 for the mobile home, the individual pays the lot rent of $200 plus utilities and provides their own food. Also, we need a refrigerator and stove and possibly washer and dryer. We would also like to provide a shed in the back for the person to do wood or metal working..... to keep busy, use their talents and to allow them to make a little extra money. The idea is to get the individual off the streets, proper meds and therapy and into a more peaceful environment with a purpose. A large majority of alcoholics are suffering from bi-polar depression that was never diagnosed, and use alcohol to self-medicate. The symptoms are masked by the alcohol so it's difficult to diagnose. Along with having inherited the genetic disposition for additiction, the alcoholic has a battle going on inside that is bigger than most can imagine.
