The humanitarian crisis in Iraq is getting worse. Between January 2014 - October 2015, nearly 19,000 civilians in Iraq were killed, and over 3.2 million internally displaced acorss the country.
I am dedicated to do my best to be part of an effort to build peace and promote prosperity in Iraq and the region. However, I can't do it alone and I need your help.
By now, you are familiar with Soccer Salam, a campaign I have been working on for over 13 months to deliver humanitarian aid to vulnerable children and families displaced by the conflict in Iraq.
What We Accomplised?
My goal in 2015 was to raise $2000 to provide emergency aid to displaced Iraqi children and their families this summer. Thanks to your support I raised almost $3,000 , and helped deliver 5 tons of aid to 500 displaced families in Iraq.
Let's Do It Again:
This year, my goal is to raise $2,500 that will go towards delivering food, water , medicine, hygiene products, and winter needs to Iraq's most vulnerable displaced children and their families.
Winter is here and many innocent children are left without shelter or basic needs of living. I believe that we must give these displaced children and their families hope and dignity they deserve, and help them build a better future.

A Little about Me:
I am a Baghdad native, aspiring to see my country at peace again. I lived in Iraq for about 17 years until the civil war forced to flee my home and seek refuge in Damascus Syria. I lived there for about two years before I came to the US in 2008 to finish my undergrduate studies at Union College, in Schenectady, NY (big shout out!) After graduation, I moved to Washington DC, and I am currently working with the Education for Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC.)
This is personal:
This effort means the world to me. I can relate to those displaced children as I lived through the hardships they are going through right now. I know what its like not to have clean drinking water or food to eat. I know what it feels like to leave the only home you know, all your friends, and the things you love.
But I also know that there are people, like you, out there who truly care about what others are going through and want to help. So I am asking you to please donate and help me give these children a new start.
