Connecting patients together, leaving no one feeling alone
Organized by: Nicolas Isley
When I was diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer I feared the worst. Google became my best friend and I searched site after site just looking for a glimmer of hope and especially someone to talk to. That wish of mine was never granted. I was disappointed to find out just how far back in the stone age the cancer community is. I kept going to site's with broken or outdated links, calendars that hadn't been refreshed in years, and non-useful blogs and forums. I wanted something intuitive, modern, and helpful to use. This is where my idea to create a new kind of social media site specifically designed with the cancer patient in mind came about! Please help me make this dream come true and donate to the So its Cancer Cause!
The site will offer unique features like separate user logins for patients, caregivers, and friends generating a unique experience for that particular user. It will give patients a place to not only post pictures, tell their story and share their journey/progress, but will also offer features like fundraising (for bills, hospital expenses, etc), link similar cancer patients together, offer one on one chatting, private messaging and give you the option to date with our unique just for cancer built in dating engine (comparable to tinder, or OKcupid... but for cancer patients!!!). So to sum it up: soitscancer.com will be a "one-stop-shop" for anything cancer related. We'll even be offering sweet deals on organic and natural products just for being a member of S.I.C!
Nothing like this has ever been done before so please join in on the ride and lets make history in the cancer community and build something amazing that will change lives forever!
*What will my donations go towards?
All donations are for supporting Nicolas Isley and building the beta version of www.soitscancer.com. This version will be used alongside a pitch deck to present to investors. This is a HUGE undertaking and will require significant time and capital. You will always be able to follow the status of the site under the "status report" link at www.soitscancer.com. This will only be possible with your donations. Please take this amazing journey with me and lets change the cancer community forever!
Our mission is to leave nobody feeling alone. We want all cancer patients to know they always have someone to talk to and that there's always someone around to listen. With that said, we're creating a new type of social media club with design and functionality specifically in mind for the cancer patient.
