So Jason May... THE PURPOSE
Jason May and Cy Lowery are a perfect pair not just as soulmates, but in another amazing way: she is kidney donation match for him! Since all savings have been exhausted during Jason's under-employment and ultimate unemployment caused by his health problems, they can't afford for Cy to stop working to offer her life-giving gift.
This fundraiser is so that Jason “may” enjoy the family life he's waited for his whole life and continue living to bless the friends and family that love and appreciate his affectionate and giving nature. The funds raised would allow Cy to take time off work to donate her kidney to Jason, ensuring that the children are cared for and that household financial obligations are covered during the surgeries and recovery.
So Jason May... THE STORY
Jason May has always dreamed of having an understanding, fun-loving wife and intelligent, creative children. His mother, Judi, likes to tell the story about when he was in first grade and his class had the "what-do-you-want-to-be-when-you-grow-up" assignment. While the other children wrote about being firemen, doctors, ballerinas, and super heroes, Jason wrote that he wanted to choose the most important job of them all -- Fatherhood.
He prepared for fatherhood his whole life in many ways. Unfortunately, fate dealt him life-threatening disease at a young age, leading him to believe his dream would never be fulfilled.
Recent years were filled with new challenges, but those challenges led to him meeting and falling in love with the woman of his dreams, Cyrene (“Cy”), who has three children. Those children – Zander (11), Naomi (9), and Cambree (7) – love him as if he were their own father (a love which is well-deserved by the tender affection, love, and appreciation he has for them) and now his childhood hopes have come true. Please enjoy the pictures of just a few of the many gifts the children have given him for an idea of how precious he has become in their lives.
Now, the kidney his mother donated to him fifteen years ago is failing and his health is in peril as he experiences ever-increasing days of symptoms associated with kidney disease: violent vomiting, dangerously high blood pressure, chronic and often excruciating pain, and debilitating fatigue. His symptoms also prevent him from being as involved and supportive a father and partner as he would like to be which takes a substantial emotional toll on Jason who is by nature very giving and devoted. Jason wants nothing more than the opportunity to be all that he can be to the family he deserves and so deeply cares for.
SO JASON MAY... BECAUSE HE DESERVES THE LIFE HE'S DREAMED OF AND BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW HIM CAN'T IMAGINE LIFE WITHOUT HIM.
