Help us bring solar-powered drip irrigation systems to rural farmers in Nicaragua.
These systems help farmers increase the crop production of local fruits and vegetables, making a very large difference to their families and communities.
Doña Christina an her family live on a couple of acres of land in the Chontales section of Nicaragua. Her husband and her five children help on the farm, where she grows papaya, grenadine, watermelon, corn and bell peppers.
Before her Solar-Powered Drip Irrigation system was installed, she had to hand-pump water from a well and carry it in 5 gallon bucket to water each plant! Even when she did this, it was not enough water for the plants so many crops didn’t grow well or at all. Now that she has the drip irrigation system, she has been able to DOUBLE her yearly crop production, greatly improving her quality of life!
Your support today wilil help bring this incredible, simple tool to more farmers throughout rural Nicaragua. Help us empower communities in Nicaragua to improve their quality of life with clean, solar energy!
