Join me this October supporting Sole Train- one of the most uplifting and relevant Boston area social missions. Combining a philosophy of running as a vehicle for social change with the needs of local Boston Public Schools, Sole Train spreads a message of hope to both its volunteers and youth. As an after (or before) school program, kids (Young Soles) group up with adults (Old Soles) for non-competitive runs, training both body and mind to be oriented more healthfully.
I have had the privilege of volunteering with this family for going on two years now, and from my experience can confirm how transformative Sole Train programs have been on not just the youth involved, but on my own orientation in life. I've seen firsthand how just getting out there, being a member of the greater community, smiling, cheering, and running can bring out the best in all of us. And this is why we call ourselves a family. In the end of the day, it's about all of us together, and what greater contribution can we give than one that brings us all a little bit closer?
