We are walking to support all of our compas in COAPIBAS, some of the most capable and committed individuals we've had the privilege to know and work along side.
Like participants in Concern America's other programs around the world, the members of COAPIBAS are volunteers who've been nominated by their communities to serve as Health Promoter Practitioners. In this role they undergo years of training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to provide primary health care to their neighbors.
In order to ensure access to basic health care and sanitation in remote and impoverished communities, Concern America makes a long-term commitment to training and accompanying Health Promoters, as well as specialists in appropriate technology, clean water systems and more. Concern continually builds capacity at the local level, through a solidarity-based model that makes it unique among international development organizations. We hope you'll join us in supporting this empowering and inspiring work!
