EVENT DATE: Aug 05, 2013
As college students involved in United Students Against Sweatshops, Luke and Leah are fundraising for a trip to the Dominican Republic and Haiti. On this trip, we will have the opportunity to join with students across the United States who are involved in this cause and to meet apparel factory workers. We will meet the leaders of Alta Gracia, the first ever living-wage union-made factory producing college logo apparel. Upon our return, we hope to bring everything we've learned from our fellow organizing students to our school and to our community, continuing to educate people about workers' rights and to advocate for a better world.
Our goal is to raise $1500 for both of us to go. We understand that this is a huge amount of money to ask, but every penny helps. If you have any questions, or if you would like us to present about our cause at an event, please feel free to contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for your support!
