EVENT DATE: May 29, 2014
The Community Water Solutions Fellowship Program uses low-cost, community-scale water treatment techniques to improve water quality in Northern Ghana. The fellows are recruited to teach the water purification system to the local community women, who are the traditional water gatherers. They also help design a business model, from which the women can generate a profit by selling the clean water. This emphasis on community involvement is what makes the project truly sustainable in nature, and what has led to it's continued success in Ghana.
