The 2010 MCAS cheating scandal at the Wilbur Elementary School has left and indelible mark on our town's education system and reputation. The internal investigation conducted by the District's attorneys that cost our town more than $40,000 produced no answers about who is directly responsible for the tampering of the school's MCAS tests for multiple years over multiple grade levels.

Recently in Atlanta, Georgia, a similar cheating scandal has seen the persons responsible sentenced to prison shedding perspective on the seriousness of this matter. We, the citizens of Somerset, deserve answers.

The parents whose children were directly affected by this scandal intend to hire a Doctorate level Court Qualified Handwriting and Document Examiner to the DESE to review individual test booklets at the DESE and compare them to handwriting samples of the employees who had access to the test booklets. The results of the analysis will be given to the DESE, the Massachusetts Secretary of Education and the Attorney General.

This process will cost about $2000. Will you please help us finally clear the good name of Somerset Public Schools and get answers about who tampered with the test booklets by making a donation to our cause?
