Fight Against Human Trafficking in Thailand
Organized by: Tameka Rish
EVENT DATE Jun 01, 2014
In 1999, an estimated 80,000 women and children were trafficked in the sex industry in Thailand. Of that 80,000 some 24,000 were under the age of 18. 15 years later the problem is even more real. This trip will focus on reaching out to the women in 2 of Bangkok's Red Light Districts - Patpong and Nana Plaza. The goal will be to develop relationships with the girls and women with a hope of showing them other skills that can be used to create an income. These are people that have no one fighting for them.
You can visit the blog of the organziation that I am traveling with below for more details on previous trips.
Prayers are needed as we will be in unpredictable situations.
A t-shirt will be provided for any donation over $50. Please make note of your size. Reminder that if you would like a tax receipt please mail a check to 3777 Peachtree Rd NE, #1533, Atlanta, GA 30542. Make payable to Adventures in Missions.
I'm excited to annouce that thanks to your support the minimum amount of $3,000 for trip was raised in less than 24 hours! However, that does not mean there is any less need. All donations will be used by the charity to continue the fight against human trafficking.
