Thank you for taking the time to open the link to my page.
As many of you know, our Brownie troop leader Martha Burger suffered a stroke earlier this year. Martha's husband Bob has done an amazing job of supporting Martha in her rehabilitation, along with providing a wonderful sense of normalcy and continuity for their two young children, Ellie and Adam. To see how they have rallied as a family is nothing short of inspirational.
Bob has always been a huge supporter of the "Angel Ride", which benefits The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. However, there is only so much that one person can put on their plate. While I cannot match the effort he put in during years' past (he completed the 2-day ride), I can... in his honor ... complete the 1-day portion of the ride, a 50-mile trek. I'm hoping you will join me in supporting this wonderful cause in Bob's honor.
Thanks again for your time! Wish me luck for the ride this Sunday.
More Info on The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp:
In 1988, Paul Newman opened The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut so that children coping with serious illnesses could have a special hideout where they could simply be kids. The Camp, which served 288 campers its first year, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2012-13 with 20,000 children and family members now experiencing “a different kind of healing” annually. Each year, 2,500 are served onsite and 19,000 visits by the Hospital Outreach Program bring the fun and friendship of Camp into more than 20 sites throughout the Northeast – all free of charge.
