Hello! First off, thank you so much for taking time out of your day to visit my fundraising page! My name is Sophie Santleben. I am currently a senior at Smithson Valley High School, but in the fall I will be attending the Universty of Texas at Austin! I work with middle schoolers at Community Bible Church Bulverde in our youth group Inside/out, and I love sharing the love of Christ with those around me. I get the awesome opportunity to be a Tribal Leader for three weeks this summer at Still Water Sports Camp, and I could not be more excited! This will be my sixth year at SW, and I have gone from being a camper to Core Team to now being a TL. Still Water has been influential not only in my faith but my character and building precious friendships centered around Christ that I still keep up with today. It's what I like to call my 'home away from home,' because no matter how long it is between camps you attend and whenever you come back there's always such a sense of family and welcome that you just can't find anywhere else. Every camp I've been to topped the last for the title of 'Best Week of my Life' and I am so excited to see another facet of camp life as I take on this new role as Tribal Leader. For that reason, I'm ecstatic that I will be able to witness yet another year of Christ moving in these kid's hearts and changing their lives in ways they never could have thought imaginable. For your enjoyment I have uploaded my eighth grade testimonial video of what I love most about Still Water.
Who is Still Water?
Still Water is an overnight sports, adventure, and leadership camp. Camp is open to anyone ages 5-18.
What makes Still Water Unique?
- Still Water ministers to culturally and economically diverse kids. We scholarship 50% of our campers.
- We present to over 10,000 students in the public school system and work with organizations such as FCA, YFC, Young Life, and others across the state during the year to stay connected with kids.
- Our staff to camper ratio is about 3-1. We intentionally have smaller camps (75-80 kids) where college students and families serve together as our staff and leadership teams.
Why should you get involved?
In evaluation of my upcoming summer, I've determined the best investment of my time is to serve with Still Water Camps. To make that happen, I need to raise $500 per term (two weeks). Would you consider helping me by donating here and helping me go on mission with Still Water?
