Good News: When breast cancer is detected in its earliest stages, women have a 95% chance of survival with proper treatment!
Bad News: Minority women are two times more likely to die from breast cancer because they are generally diagnosed with breast cancer at later stages of the disease.
The Saving Our Sisters Project (SOS) employs community health workers to take the message of early detection "to the street" and encourage women in underserved neighborhoods to get mammograms early.
Your donation will help us pay for a door-to-door campaign that we plan to launch in May 2014 providing culturally sensitive breast health education.
