THE STORY:
Fort Worth Swing Dance Syndicate needs a new sound system! Can you help us? We spend every Thursday night teaching and dancing with 50-100 other people in a local art gallery. Unfortunately, our little sound system can't keep up with the acoustics of an art gallery, the chatter of excited friends dancing together, and our syncopated dancing.
The cool things: we have awesome instructors, DJs, and attendees who love this dance and community! We share vernacular jazz dancing with Fort Worth, make new friends each week, and host the annual Sundance Swing Out (google it, it's awesome).
The uncool things: our sound system just can't keep up. Our instructors sometimes have to shout to be heard, and announcement time means turning off the fans so people can hear about upcoming events. Old jazz tunes that haven't been remastered are completely unplayable on the current speakers.
The super cool plan: raise money to purchase a new sound system, complete with microphones and a solid sound board for DJs. Want to be part of this plan? Donate and help us out!
We're also hosting a silent auction with art, food, and dance-related goodies on September 15 at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. Come join us there and participate in the auction! Auction starts at 8pm and ends at 10:30pm.
