Sam Mooney wrote -Thanks for visiting our fundraiser page! We are three normal guys from a small town in South Dakota who are big football fans and admire Pat Tillman. Pat Tillman was a professional football player who selflessly turned down a multi million dollar contract to play in the NFL, and with his brother enlisted in the United States Army. While serving as a US Army Ranger in Afghanistan, Pat was killed in action. We are participating in the 12th Annual - Pat’s Run in Minneapolis, MN on April, 22nd to help support the Pat Tillman Foundation. We have great respect for what Pat and many others do in service of our country. That being said, if running 4.2 miles helps send military personnel to college, then we are all for it! We are three fat, old, and out of shape Americans who are looking to help others, while improving ourselves in the process. We can not think of a better charity than Pat’s Run to help raise money and awareness. Our group consists of one Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, a recovering alcoholic with over six years sobriety, and a forty something year old Rocker with a deep, rich military family tradition. Our primary goals are to raise $4,200 and bring awareness to Pat's Run. Our secondary goals are to finish the race and recruit more to come with us in the following years to come. The process to donate is super easy. 100% of the funds raised will go towards this incredible foundation that has raised over $14 million in scholarships. If you can not donate monetarily, we ask that you share our link to help us raise awareness. We have many pounds to lose and even more funds to raise before April 22nd. We thank you in advance for helping in any way possible. We plan on keeping family and friends updated throughout this journey. Our motto for this race is “Good people doing Good things” Please help us to help others. Thank You!
