South Africa Missionary Trip
Organized by: Anna Yurik
Hi, my name is Anna Yurik and I am 23 years old. I was recently able to fulfill a life goal and go on a missions trip to South Africa along with a couple of my friends, who came on the trip with me. While there, I spent two weeks at Doctors for Life orphanage living, eating and sleeping along side the orphans. I was shocked to see the conditions these helpless children were living in. We spent a lot of time with the kids doing many different crafts and activities that we had brought with us. In addition to that, we shared God's amazing grace and love through Bible stories, songs and games that the children really enjoyed. After spending two weeks at the orphanage, we were given the opportunity to move to Schulzendale Mission, located a half hour from the orphanage. There I spend most of my time, tutoring school kids, volunteering at the mission bakery and lending a hand in the school cafeteria and music/arts class. It truly was a life changing experience that I will never be able to put into words. It is in my deepest desires to go back to South Africa in the near future. I would like for it to be a three month trip next time. I am hoping to raise $5,000 to cover the cost of the round trip airfare, three month stay and crafts for the children. Also, I plan to invest as much as possible into the bakery on the mission that bakes daily bread for the mission and near by villages. Help me bring hope to the orphans of South Africa. "Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest."
