Southern Adventist University's Master's of Science in Global Community Development is an innovative field-based masters degree that equips individuals who sense a personal calling to mission service and who want to help others live an abundant life.
Our program incorporates a strong research component with hands-on experience. We prepare students for either developing their own self-supporting ministry or for employment in a variety of community-based organizations. During the program, students gain experience in projects involving micro-finance, agriculture, literacy and health education, environmental preservation, artisan crafts, and more.
Some specific areas where our students gain hands-on experience include:
- Leading community-based global projects that focus on building sustainable relationships.
- Improving the lives of at-risk populations by collaborating with indigenous and non-indigenous groups in sharing information, resources, and vision.
- Training local communities to be able to plan, implement, and assess their own projects.
This crowd funding account is a means of empowering our students to run their own project campaigns in order to achieve their professional service goals during their field practicums and extended internships. We also hope this will provide our students with an empowering strategy in seeking any needed assistance for their educational costs.
Together we are stronger as we seek to professionally, collaboratively, and sustainably impact communities around the world for Christ!
